As you return to your school environment this coming fall, remember what your first year was like and reflect on what orientations could have helped. In the case of your union, this is as good as any time to BRAG a little bit about what your membership and the collective work of your fellow members did this past year to set a better stage for new, incoming school employees. Review some key wins at the legislature this past year, including nation-leading wage increases for educators. Invite them to be a part of something bigger to improve the profession. Among our key legislative priorities, this coming year, we are calling for a state-wide health care model of 80/20 percent - District to Employee ratio. For too long, annual health care insurance increases undermine other gains made and it needs to be reined in!
